Question:
My friend had asked me to officiate her wedding. Her and her fiancé are not religious and wanted a secular ceremony. But to be able to officiate the wedding and sign off on the marriage license I would have to become ordained. There are non religiously affiliates institutions that do this but I’m hesitant and would like some guidance. Thank you

Answer:
If they are Muslims, they can’t be married without the approval and consent of her father.
Being ordained as a Christian marriage official gets you out of the fold of Islam and is considered an act of apostasy.
