I apologize if this is a gross and unfair generalization. Please correct me where I'm wrong.

One of the shuyookh here in America said in one of his lectures:

"We are the 1.6 billion draining humanity, while the companions were the small number of people leading it."

Unfortunately, when I look at the character of Muslims around the world today, I can't help but feel like we as Muslims can only blame ourselves for our failings. I would estimate that a very small percentage of Muslims worldwide pray regularly, let alone in congregation at the masjid. Many are unjust, untrustworthy, do not love for their brothers what they love for themselves, do not strive to aid others, have not purified their hearts from the destructive qualities, do not fear Allah, do not implement His law, and are away from the Prophetic sunnah. (I am just as guilty as anyone else)

I think it's time for Muslims to stop pointing the finger to those who have no sympathy for us and our religion; begging, pleading, and petitioning to them. Why would Allah aid us against our enemies, when we haven't distinguished ourselves from them?

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.’”

"Allah will aid His slave so long as he aids his brother."

"Know that victory comes with patience."

"Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves."
